Special Olympics Regonal Alpine Ski Competition
The Special Olympics Ontario Milton Alpine Ski Team and Milton Heights Racing Club are proud to announce the results of a very successful PROVINCIAL QUALIFYING alpine ski COMPETITION, which was held on SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 20, 2010 at the Glen Eden Ski and Snowboard Centre in Milton, Ontario. Teams from Milton, Mississauga, Toronto, Oshawa and Ottawa competed in SLALOM, GIANT SLALOM and ADAPTIVE EVENTS. Special Olympics is unique, in that both males and females of all age groups compete within FOUR levels (divisions) of functioning ability.
The youngest competitor at this competition was AGE 8 and the oldest 53.
Successful athletes will qualify to compete at the Provincial Winter Games in Thunder Bay, Ontario, in 2011. Those winners will then advance on to Team Ontario, to compete in 2012 at the National Games to be held in Alberta! Winners there then advance on to Team Canada for the World Games!
